Fulfilling Success

Do you really desire to have success in life; not just success, but success with fulfillment? This is my advice – At every stage of life, make sure that you have the following relationships: 1. Upwards – you report to someone or some people who are responsible for your success. If you are a protege or mentee – humble yourself before your upward helper, lest you lose the help. Personally, I do not waste my upward helpers’ time. It is not everything that I ask from them. If they have books and cds, I make sure I buy all of them and read and listen thoroughly because the stories of great people are in their books. They publish books and cds for me to consume, not to chase after the helpers who are busy. I only call them when I have follow-up questions to what they have written or recorded in audios or dvds. A good example of a person who reads his lawyers’ and advisers’ books is Robert Kiyosaki. Examples of upward relations can be your parents, teachers, coach, mentor, adviser, supervisor, accountant, lawyer, role model, customers (I include customers here because if you are not honoring your customers and listening to them you will soon be out of business) etc. 2. Across – you relate well with your spouse, workmates, business partner(s), suppliers etc. Good relationships here means smooth running of your operations. 3. Downwards – have someone or some people that believe in you and you pour your life, time, experience or expertise into them. The downward relationship should not be taken for granted because it is the only way to leave a legacy. Examples include children, junior staff, believers, students, siblings or any person submitting to you. With downwards relations, you have to be careful and patient because majority of people who ask for mentorship today are not serious – they think they know it all and they want quick success. They do not want to grow slowly as you did, rather they want you to give them everything on a silver platter. So choose your proteges carefully, majority are empty dreamers who want get-rich-quick-schemes. But some misbehave due to lack of knowledge and as their up-line, if you persist, they can become great. The goal of having downwards relations is to raise people who are greater than you. Now, that is true success.

Do you know why I am passionate about writing and speaking on personal finance and entrepreneurship especially Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs)?

First of all I believe that God sent me to educate people out of financial ignorance so that they can live a more fulfilled life.

Secondly, Botswana and other African countries are facing many challenges that include high unemployment, poverty, rising crime due to unemployment and economic hardships, high level of debt, high failure rate of businesses especially start-ups. I believe my part is not to criticize leaders and other people, but help with a solution. My part is to write in newspapers, magazines and books; speak in lecture rooms, conferences, churches, radio and on television on personal finance and entrepreneurship.

Thirdly, it helps me to leave a legacy of responsible followers that care about their countries and continent.

Fourthly, if I play a part to develop entrepreneurs, it contributes to employment creation – which reduces idling, crime, economic hardships and poverty. It increases Gross Domestic Product; reduces over dependence on government and it also increases taxes to the government – which help government to improve roads, clinics, schools etc.

Fifthly, if I can just empower one person; that one person can empower another one, and the line goes on and on. Before you know it, Africa becomes better.

What part are you playing to make the country and continent better?

Raising leaders, developing talent and impacting generations!

Do not give up on 2015

Do not give up on 2015. It took God six days to create the earth. More than 90 days left till end of 2015. That is too much. If you keep focused, you can still do wonders this year. I know that you may have suffered disappointments, failures and setbacks in 2015. But please gather yourself again like a boxer or wrestler. Stop wishing 2015 would end and you try 2016. Maximize what you have now. What you have right now is 2015. You are coming tops. Always remember God loves you and I love you. This is your year!

Ignorance is your worst enemy

A story is told of a man who traveled hungry several kilometers by train. He was just eating biscuits here and there because he did not have enough money for food after paying for the ticket. When he arrived at his destination other passengers asked why he never came to eat with the rest and he said that it was because he did not have money for food. They then explained to him that his ticket included food.

Do you see how this man suffered from hunger yet he unknowingly had paid for both travel and food all the way?Ignorance is your worst enemy. Anything that you do not know is dangerous and it keeps you away from realizing your full potential. Instead of crying about what you do not have; are you aware that you are loaded with potential?

I am glad that many of you my friends, fans and readers have been asking me for a motivational/inspirational book, others were asking for an entrepreneurship book; while others were demanding the next personal finance book. The good news is that I am launching a 4-in-1 book covering inspiration, motivation, personal finance and business on 5th December 2015 at University of Botswana Library Auditorium between 530pm and 9pm. See the book page: https://www.facebook.com/Book-What-You-Have-is-Enough-89…/…/
